People have a lot of opinions about tipping.(WHAT SHOULD MATTER MOST IS WHAT DRIVERS THINK) With the recent news about Uber’s choice not to support tips for drivers, we wanted to share why Lyft thinks differently. (AND THAT’S WHY THEY DROP THE FARES JUST LIKE UBER)
We started Lyft with the idea of building a community that takes care of each other. ( I GUESS DRIVERS GOT LEFT OUT) And thanks to your help, ( OF COURSE WITHOUT DRIVERS THERE IS NO LYFT )that idea has grown into a movement of people who love saying thanks for great service. It can be with a simple kind word, (I GUESS DRIVERS RUN A CHARITY) a ticket to join them at a ballgame — or a tip in the app, which 70% of Lyft passengers have given. (NOTICE HOW MENTION OF THE TIP IS CONVENIENTLY LEFT LAST BECAUSE IT’S NOT A PRIORITY FOR THEM -ONLY FOR DRIVERS)
Just like with the rest of the Lyft experience, we set out to make the tipping experience super easy. (FOR RIDERS TO CONVENIENTLY FORGET TO TIP) By building it into the app, drivers have no need to ask for tips, which is awkward and ineffective. (THAT’S INTERESTING BECAUSE MOST DRIVERS WHO USE PROPER TIP SIGNS USUALLY GET REWARDED MUCH MORE SO THAN ONES WHO RELY ON GOOD NATURED PASSENGERS TO BE KIND AND APPRECIATIVE)
Together, Lyft passengers have tipped $85,000,000, with 100% of that money going straight to drivers like you. (AS IF IT SHOULD BE ANY OTHER WAY. Imagine what it could be if LYFT and Uber really got behind tipping and not treat it like a subject of cancer)
As leaders in the industry, (TRUE LEADERS SHOULD SET EXAMPLES IN ALL AREAS TIPPING FARES ETC) it’s our responsibility to give people the options they want, and create a culture of mutual respect.
